Thousands of cosplay fans turned out dressed to the nines for the first day of New York Comic Con on Thursday. The self-confessed ‘geek’ exhibition is a chance for die-hard science fiction and fantasy fans to dress up as their favourite comic book characters, lady loki costume in a whirlwind two-day event at Glebe Island. Photos of the exhibition captured some heart-melting moments, as parents ditched babysitters for the weekend and dressed up with their children to make for some truly special family superhero combinations.
